The First PREMIER Bank MasterCard® / Visa®, issued by First PREMIER Bank, is a credit card designed for those with less than perfect credit.
There are various fees associated with this card including the following which will be billed to the first statement: an annual fee of $48, an account set-up fee of $29, a program fee of $95, and a monthly participation fee of $7. These types of fees are common among cards designed for poor or limited credit and will reduce the cardholder's available credit until they are paid.
The APR for purchases is very low (see Terms and Conditions) as compared to similar cards; however, individuals who are considering this card should bear in mind the fees that are applied to new accounts. If these charges are not paid in full, they will simply be applied to the total balance and accrue additional finance charges on the account.
It is important to note that although the APR posted for purchases of 9.9% is fixed, if the cardholder's account goes past the due date two times in any six month period or goes past the due date for two consecutive billing cycles, the penalty pricing will apply and the APR for purchases will increase to 19.9%.
Those who become active members of the First PREMIER Bank MasterCard®/Visa® will be glad to know that transactions will be reported each month to all four credit bureaus.
Therefore, those who do not mind paying the fees associated with this card, which total $256 for the first year alone, may find the First PREMIER Bank MasterCard® / Visa® as a reasonable option.
