Credit Cards for Sports Fans
Sunday, February 24th, 2008There are different credit cards for all different kinds of people. Of course when we say that we’re usually talking about people’s different income levels and credit histories. But there are also different credit cards related to the different personal interests that consumers might have. For example, if you’re a sports fan, you might find that there are credit cards which are designed specifically to offer you the types of rewards that relate to your sports interests. These cards may be affiliated with a specific sport or may offer you general sports-related benefits.
Here are some of the sports credit cards that are available to give you an idea of what options you might have:
• Golf Credit Cards. Many business people have multiple credit cards. They use their airline credit cards for travel, their small business credit cards for work purchases and their
golf credit cards when they’re racking up bills on the green. These cards generally let you accumulate points to be spent on golf-related rewards such as equipment and travel to courses.
• Sports Television Credit Cards. There are many companies that offer credit cards affiliated with specific sports channels such as The Golf Channel or ESPN. These give you rewards ranging from VIP sporting events tickets to reductions on the price of your television bill.
• NASCAR. Who doesn’t love NASCAR races? If you spend a lot of money on enjoying this sport, you might as well get something back in return. Several different lenders offer NASCAR-themed sports credit cards with rewards that are related that give you products and merchandise related to NASCAR.
• Outdoor sports. Some people don’t want to watch sports or participate in a team event, they just want to get outside and enjoy nature. If you’re that kind of person, you know that it’s an activity that doesn’t come cheap. As you’re purchasing tents and hiking boots, mountain climbing gear and water bottles, start getting points back from an outdoor enthusiasts’ credit card. Use the points to get new equipment for better enjoyment of the outdoors.
Of course, you should keep in mind that it’s not always good to have a bunch of different rewards cards. If you already have a great general rewards credit card that gives you points back on all of your sports purchases, you might not need to get a new card. Look at the different terms, benefits, fees, rewards and items that can be purchased with points to determine whether you need a sports credit card or not.
